Chris Hutchinson (Hartford, CT Congressional Candidate)

Chris Hutchinson is running for office to encourage working people to begin taking political action in their own names and to build a massive fight-back against the corporate and government attacks we are enduring. He pledges to use his campaign to support demonstrations, strikes, and other mobilizations of working people in their own interests!

Hutchinson, age 27, is an art teacher in Hartford area schools, a popular political cartoonist and a longtime activist in the state anti-war organization, CT United for Peace. In December 2002 he helped to organize a student contingent in the march at the state capitol to oppose budget cuts. He has been invovled in the fights to defend the Danbury 11 and to end the anti-immigrant ICE raids.

Dr. Shelley Janiczek Woodson 

For over 20 years, Licensed Psychologist and Gender Therapist, Dr. Shelley Janiczek Woodson, has been providing care, mediation, and consultation for gender-noncomforming adults, groups, children, couples, and their families. Ze is an author, researcher, and professor of gender studies, child development, human sexuality, and sleep science.  Dr. Woodson has been an outspoken member of the American Psychological Association. For example, ze has called for the APA to stop pathologizing Transgender people, and to revise the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) accordingly. Ze has also called for Kenneth J. Zucker, Ph.D., DSM Sexual and Gender Identity Disorders Chair, to resign.  Dr. Woodson is a longtime LGBTIQQA activist. Currently, ze sits on the GLBTQ Online High School advisory board; manages a fund for disadvantaged gender-noncomforming people in the Springfield, Massachusetts area; and provides outreach services for the homeless Western Massachusetts Transgender Community, through Woodson & Associates.

LezleeAnne (Rock Diva): 

LezleeAnne is Back in ACTION! From 1997–2006, as “Les Rios”, she played 1150 shows spanning a quater Million miles in 150 cities including Toronto, Halifax, Boston, Burlington, Portland, Springfield, Hartford, Providence, Albany & Key West. In 2007 she paused to come out of the closet, complete her male-to-female transition, & released her 4th CD, “Queen of the World”. The singer-songwriter recently won 1st Runner-up at the 2009 Miss Trans New England Pageant and played at the New England Trans United Rally both in Northampton, doing what she does best – Jammin’ her guitar & Rockin’ the House! Arjuna Greist  (Folk Artist)



A performer since before she can remember, Arjuna spent her formative years singing in choirs and at open mics before graduating to professional gigs during college. In 2000, arjuna answered fan demand for an album with a six song demo CD, "some chick sings," which she supported with her first nationwide tour in 2001. She continued to expand her performance horizons, singing solo as well as sharing the stage with such lovely folk as Pamela Means, Edie Carey, Trina Hamlin, and Adrianne. Arjuna moved to Northampton, MA in 2002, and has played at area performance spaces including The Elevens, The Ironhorse, Diva's Nightclub, P.A.C.E., The Flywheel, The Open Square, The Java Hut, and Earthdance.  Her song freebird was chosen for the 2002 Northampton Music Festival CD.




Sylvia Whitelace (Guitar & Vocal Extraordinar): 

Has had a love affair with music her entire life.  Accordion lesson at nine, and ended up getting her first guitar in Louisville, Ky.  She started the Hill experimental Theater. They developed a full road show production of JC. Superstar and toured throughout  Conn and Mass. In 2000 she  released "The Lizard "   a 13 song Rock Video  which encapsulates in images and words a glimpse of the American story from Vietnam through  911. featuring  Lucy's Child ,Circus,  &  Traxx.  She is a little more than halfway through with a 9 song CD " A Touch of Pink.. with a little help from her friends. She recently played for a Miss Trans England Pot Luck fundraiser and at Connecticut Pride 2010.

 



Carrie Ferguson ( Riding On the Back of the Wind )

In February 2010, Northampton - Based singer songwriter Carrie Ferguson released her solo debut, "Riding On the Back of the Wind", to a sold-out crowed at the Iron Horse Music hall in Northampton, MA. She and her band play soaring, high energy folk pop with haunting melodies, exquisite harmonies, and smart, beautiful lyrics. Their live shows are jubilant affairs, full of humor and warmth, featuring original songs ranging from ambient ballads to rootsy, country-tinged folk and straight up rock.

Is an intersexed pre-transition FTM living in Greenfield with his loyal and loving beagle Tobey the Wander Dog. He also lives with, and serves three very bossy feline dominatrixes. When not in active service to them, he spends his time looking for work, gardening and writing poetry. He is thankful for life, love and everything!
